All OX4 Humbuckers are hand wound using 42 PE wire and built by me. The OHM readings are approx 7.1k to 8.4k but sometimes a bit in between. Hookup wire is braided 2 conductor. Bobbins are Black, Zebra, white or Bone with Nickel Covers. I don’t pot my pickups either. The standard Ox4 PAF style pickup is a low wind with A4 magnets. You can choose other wind or magnet options below
Each pick up is built to order and this can take up to a week. Matched set of pickups are £235 shipped worldwide. Pickups for luthiers. contact me with your requirements.

The Hot Duane

Inspired from Duane Allman and his killer tone at the Fillmore, this set is a hotter wind than normal. The neck is over wound giving a smooth and thick note compression. I wind the neck 1st and match the bridge so its nice and balanced. The magnets are alnico 5.

Peter Green, when he played it was pure expression! His tone was lovely and totally original.. very soulful player. Among guitars players, when we think of Peter Green's tone we think of that nasal out of phase tone. I have been prototyping a wind to capture this tone and feel that I have achieved an authentic version.
I will be making a Ltd run of 28 sets worldwide. Each set will be numbered and aged, double whites under covers and of course neck is out of phase.
